The best laid plans… So, before this picture, I had a couple of days planned to get caught up on a bunch of blog posts I need to write. The good news is that they don’t think it’s broken, but we’ve got two weeks in a cast to be safe, then a follow-up (and hopefully a cast free rest of the summer). At any rate, hoping to get back to blogging shortly. In the interim, here’s a little bit of info only an aviation geek could find funny/interesting. Upon landing […]

Thank You For Your Thoughts
Wow. I have to say I’m more than a bit overwhelmed. I haven’t been paying attention to much the last 28 hours other than the family member we were forced to say goodbye to yesterday. I’ve been trying my best to read and respond to all the comments people left, and I inadvertently clicked on “Stats” instead of “Comments” this morning when I was going to approve a few comments that were awaiting moderation. I’m literally blown away by the number of people who read my post from last night. […]
When Life Takes A Heart-Breaking Turn
This post will have absolutely nothing to do with miles and points. If that’s the value you get out of my blog, I’m very thankful, but this post won’t help you with any of that. I was inspired to write this today after watching my good friend Summer (Mommy Points) share a similar story not too long ago as she dealt with the pain of losing her companion. Writing has always been an outlet for me, whether happy or sad. It’s a necessary outlet right now. I remember that day […]
5 “Mom” Things To Do While Traveling
There are many reasons I enjoy traveling with the family. High on my list is “forced down time” in a car or plane where the kids are occupied and I can focus on me for a bit. Here’s how….
November 2015 Month In Pictures
The month in pictures is much more family-oriented in November. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
What I’m Thankful For
There are lots of great things to talk about in the travel world. There are unbelievable first class seats to far away destinations. There are fabulous meals and wines. There are landmarks and sights to see, things that will leave you in awe of what the world has created. Waterfalls, mountains, monuments, churches, temples. Champagne, cheese, candies and treats. All wonderful things, to be celebrated for sure. But, this is what I’m thankful for:
October 2015 Month In Pictures
A quick spin through our month, as told by the lens of our camera.
Plenty To Be Thankful For!
It’s been a bit over 6 years since I started this blog. I started it as a way to keep in touch with family and friends. I wrote about whatever moved me, whether that was sports, politics or travel. Back then, a normal day saw 4 or 5 people visit and a big day was double-digit traffic. I remember a day back in 2008 when I got a sneak peek at the new train going into Dulles airport and was shocked when over 100 people visited my blog. Some painful personal […]
Our Family Review Of The Movie Planes: Fire And Rescue
The lovable Dusty is back with the release of the new Disney flick Planes: Fire and Rescue. This movie comes as our son is now midway between 3 and 4 years old and has become fascinated with planes, Dusty in particular. When the first Planes movie came out my son was infatuated with trains and Mater (from the Cars movies). He didn’t even make it through the whole movie, running around the theater and playing, finally needing to be removed so he didn’t bother the rest of the moviegoers. Since then, […]
Bluum! 7 Miles Per Dollar On Mom and Baby Gifts
Don’t forget to check out my Briggs & Riley giveaway for a brand new TORQ suitcase and $100 Amazon gift card. My apologies for being a bit quiet the last couple days. There have been some technical issues with a software upgrade that have lead to some issues for me being able to post. I used to have the best baby gift in the world (at least I thought so). The Pampers website used to sell a monthly diaper supply as a gift. You’d just tell them how many months of […]
