American Airlines Is Giving Bonus Shopping Miles For Christmas
American Airlines is giving away bonus miles for specific spending thresholds on their shopping portal for the Christmas season. Through December 2, you can earn bonus miles in 3 tiers:
This essentially breaks down to an extra 10 points/dollar as long as you hit one of the three spending thresholds. All of these are certainly easy enough to hit if you consider your day-to-day purchases along with any holiday gifts. And, this offer is a whole lot better than last year’s offer of 500 miles for every $250 spent. This certainly isn’t something that’s worth it for manufactured spending like magazine subscriptions, but there are plenty of merchants among the hundreds on the shopping portal (Apple, Macy’s, FTD, Staples, Under Armour, Wine.com, Sears) that can help you hit $250.
The only downside here is that the offer runs out on December 2nd as opposed to running through the entire holiday season. The silver lining here is that the other major airlines will likely have offers in the market that you can likely use for spend over $250 and after December 2nd.
