More Discounts To Europe, Up To 6,000 Miles For A Hotel Booking and New Southwest Routes To Cool Places. The Best Of The Rest For Friday, May 22, 2015
The airlines are really pushing discounted business class fares to/from Europe. One Mile at a Time posted twice about it today, and the prices are really good. I have a colleague that paid $2,000 per ticket in coach to get over to Europe with her family recently. Some of these fares are lower than that for business class.

WOW Air is a new start-up carrier that has unbelievable fares to Europe, connecting in Iceland (and awesome fares to Iceland as well). I’ve been wondering what the actual product is like, given that I’ve seen fares as low as $99 one-way. Here’s an extensive review, and it doesn’t look too bad.
I’ll admit, I’m not that familiar with the hotel booking engine Kaligo. But, Frequent Flyer Bonuses reports a booking bonus from 2,000 to 5,000 miles (United or American) for bookings, and an additional 1,000 miles for new members. That’s enough to get me interested.
Deals We Like has a list of new Southwest routes to enticing destinations like Costa Rica, Cabo and Puerto Vallarta. And, apparently one more new route that has me intrigued from one of my hometown airports (DCA) to the House of Mouse (Orlando). I don’t fly Southwest often, but given the number of routes they have out of DCA now, I have to start giving some consideration.
American Express will be opening a new Centurion Lounge in Miami to add to beautiful lounges in Las Vegas, Dallas/Ft. Worth, New York (LGA) and San Francisco.
If you run an airline, is it easier to deal with two unions for the same group of employees, or one? Um, yeah.
That’s the Best of the Rest for today.
