Cheap Flights to Alaska, Amtrak Upgrades Coming, Ritz-Carlton Info And Free Laundry Detergent
Here’s what I’m reading about in the world of miles and points:
Cheap Flights of the Day:
Alaska is on sale for a bit more than $300. If you’re looking to visit, I’d try other permutations and keep an eye on things. Fares usually drop pretty significantly this time of year to Alaska.
Southwest is also having another really good fare sale.
In Case You Missed It:
Hyatt Announces Their Newest Promotion. Don’t Forget to Register For it.
I got a pretty in-depth look at the new United Polaris Business Class. Take a look.
ANA says their replacing the engines on their entire fleet of 787s.
Amtrak announces upgrades to their most popular routes. I missed this last week, but it’s (maybe) good news for Amtrak folks. I really want to like Amtrak since it can be a very convenient way to get from DC to New York. But, their lack of consistency can be frustrating. Given all the pieces that have to move together to get them upgrades, I’m still skeptical all these changes will happen. They note a new top speed of 160mph, but the current trains rarely hit the existing top speeds due to all the track issues.
For those folks who took advantage of the new Ritz-Carlton credit card offer I mentioned recently, One Mile at a Time has put together all the hotels you can redeem at. Plenty of dreaming to do on that list!
It really shocks me that airlines haven’t figured out how to be more sensitive on issues facing mothers with babies. And yet, these stories just keep coming.
