Marriott’s CEO Is Having Trouble Telling The Truth, Cheap Flights To Los Angeles And More
Here’s what I’m reading about today in the world of miles and points:
Cheap Flights of the Day: ~$200 flights to LAX. That’s just about as low as I see transcon flights. Looks like I missed $200 fares to Istanbul yesterday!!
In Case You Missed It: Hyatt has the best promo out right now. Registration is now open, which you can do right here.
A really interesting Alaska Air promo with British Airways. You can earn double miles when flying from Seattle to London on British Airways when you credit the flight to your Alaska Air MileagePlan account. And, any MVP Gold members automatically get access to the Galleries lounge at London Heathrow during the promo period. This would be a great benefit for Alaska Gold members if it stuck around.
Marriott’s CEO Arne Sorenson was on TV talking about the Starwood merger. He says he believes they can keep all the benefits the same, and maybe even improve on them. And I’m going to be the starting pitcher for the New York Yankees on opening day this year.
Get a $10 Starbucks gift card for $5. Easy peasy.
View From The Wing’s take that devaluations lead to….devaluations. He’s not wrong, and devaluations really aren’t the end of the world. But, they’re a good reason to maximize your earning and be smart about redeeming.

And here I didn’t even know you played baseball. Congrats!
Christian, thanks! I’m pretty proud of the accomplishment, just like Marriott’s CEO is proud of giving SPG members more benefits.
