Cheap Flights To Japan, Stolen Car From A Car-Sharing Service And Delta Up To No Good Again
The Best of the Rest is my effort to summarize all the travel/miles & points stories that interested me on a daily basis but didn’t have time to write about in length. Culled from over 100 blogs/authors I follow, some are passed along without comment, while I add my analysis to others. This is your shortcut to find out what’s going on in the travel world without having to read dozens of travel blogs to get all the best info.
Cheap Flights Of The Day: Screaming good prices to Tokyo because of fare wars. $699 round-trip from Dallas, Miami, Philly, Phoenix, St. Louis.
One of my friends (fellow blogger Tahsir who you can find at Travel Codex) had his car stolen while using car-sharing/car rental services. I saw him Tweet this right when it happened and felt pretty badly for him. I’m super pleased to hear he got his car back and the service he used made him whole. This is a must-read to learn from.
How to avoid paying taxes on flights from Europe to the US using Avios.
Delta is back to causing trouble regarding Tokyo’s Haneda airport. As the US and Japan are working to expand the agreement for US airlines to fly to Haneda, Delta views that as a bad thing for them because of the lack of big partnerships there in Japan. They claim otherwise, but they want to take their ball and go home. I agree closely with Ben at One Mile at a Time here. Delta’s position is clearly not in the best interest of customers. This is after they lost a skirmish with American over the Haneda slot in the first place. Every time I think the Haneda issue is dead…..
What is the right age to start teaching your kids to ski? We’re trying to figure this out now (along with how much money we’re willing to spend on a very expensive sport). Summer does a great job going through their process and it definitely helped me figure out where we should be with our kids. My wife and I don’t ski, but we didn’t want our kids to miss being exposed to skiing just because we were really bad at it.
Qatar Airways is planning to launch the two longest flights in the world, between Doha and Santiago, Chile as well as Doha-Aukland.
I didn’t know this. It’s actually pretty easy to make your own passport photo and save some cash.
18% cash back for Gap purchases.
I’d assert that many of Delta’s actions are not in the best interests of customers, like leading the pack against the ME3.
