United Gets Whacked For Mistreating Disabled People, Death of Bluebird And Free Wine
The Best of the Rest is my effort to summarize all the travel/miles & points stories that interested me on a daily basis but didn’t have time to write about in length. Culled from over 100 blogs/authors I follow, some are passed along without comment, while I add my analysis to others. This is your shortcut to find out what’s going on in the travel world without having to read dozens of travel blogs to get all the best info.
Oh, and the featured image is a pic of the runway prior to my departure at PHX over the weekend.
Here’s what I’m reading about today:
Cheap Flights of The Day: Fort Lauderdale for snowbirds is next up on the cheap flight list. $136 round-trip to get some relief from winter.
In case you haven’t heard (I hadn’t while I was buried in CES), Bluebird is dying for those who used it to manufacture spending.
This “hobby” has always been about adapting. Today’s strategies are different from yesterday’s, and tomorrow will be different yet again. But, there are other ways to enjoy once-in-a-lifetime travel, many more times than once.
United gets fined $2.75 million for mistreating disabled people and long flight delays. I keep hearing that United was a good airline at one point. I believe the people who say it, but the longer we go without those issues being fixed, without the establishment of a culture that believes in excellence, the less I believe it will mean a better airline for quite some time.
