Cheap Flights To China, Full Barf Bags, And Honest United CEO?
The Best of the Rest is my effort to summarize all the travel/miles & points stories that interested me on a daily basis but didn’t have time to write about in length. On a daily basis, I try to keep track of roughly 100 different blogs (try being the operative word) that have interesting things for you and I to learn from. Some are passed along without comment, while I add my analysis to others. This is your shortcut to find out what’s going on in the travel world without having to read dozens of travel blogs to get all the best info.
Here’s what I’m reading about today:
Cheap Flight(s) of The Day: Less than $400 from Portland to Guangzhou, China.
The new United Airlines CEO is saying all the right things to employees. He sorta has to. But, as Seth says, there’s reason to be cautiously optimistic. However, I subscribe to the school that if it took you 6 months to break something, it could take that long or longer to fix it. That means United should be excellent again in….I’ll get back to you.
It’s a small thing, but Hyatt has added a hotel to it’s “no upgrade” list, in that you can’t get a Diamond upgrade there. I know Hyatt Herald Square is a unique property, but no bueno.
Zodiac out. American Airlines looking for a new business class seat manufacturer.
WestJet is doing a status match of sorts after one flight.
Great story about a plane spotter and a dream come true.
I knew I should have snagged a Copa status match sooner. Bleh.
No, really. Have you ever found a full barf bag in the seat pocket on an airplane?
