Assorted Notables On A Sunday
Tomorrow is the last day to take advantage of the American Airlines shopping portal bonus. All the major airlines are offering roughly the same bonus. So, if you’re “miles agnostic”, it makes sense to max out the AA offer first, since United and others have bonuses through the end of the year.
Hack My Trip has a useful breakdown of how to get some SkyTeam status, which can be helpful for occasional travel on Delta. It involves Aerolinea Argentinas. For newbies, it may seem crazy to open an acount and get status with a South American airline if you’re a domestic US traveler. But, Hack My Trip outlines how that status match gets you free checked bags and free priority seating, such as bulkheads and exit rows.
Hyatt loses a resort property in Curacao. I had contemplated a trip here within the past year, so a bit sorry to see this one go. It’s now being managed by a company I used to work for, Benchmark Hospitality.
Wandering Aramean has details and pics of the newly renovated Admirals Club at Laguardia airport. I don’t fly into LGA a ton, so I haven’t had a chance to see the new club live even though it’s been done for 4 or 5 months. I was glad to see it was a more complete renovation. AA recently announced they refurbished the DCA club. While they did get some new furniture and computers, I didn’t see any other major changes. That being said, the DCA club was in much better shape then LGA.
From MLW20 on Milepoint, Le Club Accor is giving two iPads away. All you have to do to enter the drawing is complete a survey. Since Le Club Accor is not as big a program as some of the majors, you may have a decent chance to win in exchange for 10 minutes of your time.
