For those that are curious on the prices at the new Priority Pass restaurant option at Denver Airport announced last week, I have pictures. And, a sweet tip!
The newest full-service airport hotel to open in the US is nearing completion. The Westin Denver has announced that it will be ready to take reservations for stays starting December 1st, 2015 (the hotel will open November 19th). Needless to say, I was a little surprised as there’s lots of work still to be done. Denver is a frequent stop on my business travel schedule so I’ve been seeing plenty of updates on the construction. Here’s a rendering of what the hotel is supposed to look like when done: Here’s a […]
Southwest has released the 50,000 miles sign-up bonus for their credit card again. The offer may be somewhat targeted, but a fair amount of people are reporting success getting the offer. You can find more info here. If you don’t get the link that way, some of the travel bloggers like Million Mile Secrets still have 50K offer links on their sites. Loyalty Lobby has picked up a slightly unpleasant change in the Starwood Preferred Guest program. One of the hallmarks of the SPG program is the ability to transfer […]
Denver airport is an airport I fly into and out of quite frequently. They’ve undertaken a massive construction project to not only add a hotel beside the airport but also to bring mass transit (train) to the main terminal as well. There’s some pictures and info here about what the final project is supposed to look like, although that may not end up being the final look and feel since that design firm has since withdrawn from the project. At any rate, there’s been a flurry of activity over the […]
A little over a month ago I commented on the impending integration of the Clear lane with TSA Pre-Check at Denver International Airport. Clear, now in it’s second iteration, is a program that provides an opportunity to skip the line when trying to clear security in a small number of domestic US airports. The knock on Clear is that it’s really just cutting part of the line. For example, in Denver, once you get through the Clear checkpoint, you still have to select a security lane and stand in line […]
I’ve written in the past about my fondness for both CLEAR and TSA Pre-Check. There are plenty frequent travelers who feel otherwise. Since I don’t see either of these systems going anywhere anytime soon, I’m always happy when they expand or enhance their offerings. CLEAR is trying something new, integrating the CLEAR lane with the TSA Pre-Check lane at Denver International Airport: There’s no date listed on when they’re getting started, so I assume it’s already in place. I’ll be in Denver this week so I’ll try and update once […]
Back in 1995, the existing Denver International Airport opened for business. A whopping 20+ miles from downtown Denver, it was humongous and the only new major airport built from the ground up in the US in decades. While there were bumps and bruises, they did a lot of things right when they built it. Wide (and long) concourses, making it easy to navigate to your plane. Plenty of moving walkways to get you there quickly. I remember flying through there a few years after it opened and thinking how big […]
