Citibank Now Offering a 100,000 Mile Sign-up Bonus For American Airlines Executive Card

It was literally a couple days ago when rumors of a 75,000 mile sign-up bonus for the Citi Executive card surfaced.  That’s one of the highest bonuses I’ve seen in a while, but apparently it’s been trumped.

There’s now a 100,000 mile sign-up offer and it actually has a landing page where you can verify the offer.

Some folks have already applied for and received the offer and confirmed it with Citibank via phone.

Others, like Pizza In Motion reader ncsam, applied for the 75K offer and tried to get Citi to upgrade them to the 100,000 mile offer.  He was told that he needed a referral code from the physical application that’s supposed to be floating around Admirals Clubs.

As a refresher, here are some of the benefits of the Citi Executive Card:

FWIW, I found the language about the $200 in statement credits to be pretty vague, so I wouldn’t count the $200 as a credit until there’s a bit more info.

$10,000 is a big amount to spend on a credit card in 3 months and a $450 annual fee isn’t peanuts.  But, these 100,000 miles are essentially worth a free business class ticket from the US to Europe.  That’s a heck of a deal for $450.

  1. If anyone needs a referral code / airport location, here’s one from my friend who’s an AAngel in the SFO Admiral’s Club: 581482 / SFO. And from my friend: “Make sure they know that if they have a Citi card, DO NOT upgrade existing card. Open new card then transfer from old card. If they Upgrade existing card they do NOT get the bonus miles. Must be for a new card, but they can cancel old card AFTER applying for new card.”
