It Was A Nifty Idea, But American Airlines’ New Facebook Promo Doesn’t Seem Like It Will Be A Good One For Us

It was just a week ago when American Airlines announced a new Facebook promo, and I’ll admit I was interested despite my dinosaur ways when it comes to social media.

They announced they were giving away some portion of 3.21 Million AAdvantage miles.  Essentially, they would burn down the miles bit by bit until they got 321,000 new likes of their Facebook page.

It looks like it’s working out pretty good for them.  They have about 100,000 new likes.  But, the pace they are receiving likes is running slightly behind the pace they are burning down the miles, as about 1.1 million miles have burned off the total.

Doesn’t look good for anyone winning 25,000 miles.
