Half Off Sam’s Club Memberships And Half Off Your Next Radisson Stay. The Best of the Rest For Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015
The Best of the Rest is my effort to summarize all the travel/miles & points stories that interested me on a daily basis but didn’t have time to write about in length. On a daily basis, I try to keep track of roughly 100 different blogs that have interesting things for you and I to learn from. Some are passed along without comment, while I add my analysis to others. This is your shortcut to find out what’s going on in the travel world without having to read dozens of travel blogs to get all the best info. Here’s what I’m reading about today:
DC to New Orleans for $156 roundtrip and Philly to Paris for $680 (also available from Charlotte) from The Flight Deal.
Frontier is having another great fare sale, with plenty of $29 and $39 fares to be had. Thanks to Deals We Like for pointing this out.
One Mile at a Time reported on cheap business class fares on AeroMexico to South America. I’ve never flown them, but the seats on their 787s look pretty darn reasonable. For those trying to parlay this into Delta status, you may be able to spend a few more bucks to get 200% MQMs.
Via Kalboz at Milepoint, get half off a future Radisson stay.
Two great ways to get cheap membership to Sam’s Club. I have an unhealthy, stalker-ish type relationship with Costco, so Sam’s Club isn’t for me. But, as Deals We Like points out, these are good deals.
Big Marriott Reward point bonus in London and a free upgrade on Heathrow Express for summer travel courtesy of Loyalty Lobby.
Loyalty Lobby also has a post on the insane price United is offering to buy miles towards elite status. You’re much better just purchasing a refundable ticket and purchasing Premier Accelerator miles that way. I’m being offered 11.7 cents a PQM right now for an existing itinerary I have, which is an insane price. But, it’s still significantly cheaper than the 17 cents United is pitching through this offer.
How about driving the super car of your dream? Magic of Miles details the Waldorf program to do just that. Boy, that’s more cash than I’m willing to spend.
American Airlines CEO Doug Parker is selling $4MM worth of stock. Don’t worry, even though he’s taking his entire pay in stock, he’s still got $70MM worth at today’s prices.
National Car Rental is bringing back One, Two, Free again. And, it may be getting better.
Points, Miles & Martinis notes discounted gift cards on eBay, including 13% off on Hyatt gift cards.
If the elite status match offer I wrote about yesterday from Loyalty Traveler wasn’t your speed, here’s info on how to get status matches on any of the 3 major airline alliances.
2.25% back when spending American Express gift cards. Doctor of Credit has the scoop.
If you’re thinking of going down the path towards manufactured spending, you should really read about some of the pitfalls.
