I was born and raised in New York, so I don’t think much about getting around. The subway is second nature to me, as are trains like Metro North and NJ Transit. I figured there’s plenty of people who may not know how to navigate public transportation. You can save a bunch of money taking the train to Newark Airport. Here’s how to get from Manhattan in New York City to Newark Airport via train, originating at Penn Station, buying a ticket and connecting to AirTrain.
What makes a great restaurant? For some it’s the quality of the food or the wine list. Familiarity, location, a memory perhaps. All of these things factor into my decision. I like a lot of different restaurants for a lot of different reasons. Here’s why this is my favorite Italian restaurant in New York.
The Best of the Rest is my effort to summarize all the travel/miles & points stories that interested me on a daily basis but didn’t have time to write about in length. Culled from over 100 blogs/authors I follow, some are passed along without comment, while I add my analysis to others. Now, according to the Wall Street Journal, discussions are heating up to lift the ban on those longer flights: The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which controls New York City’s three major airports, said it is studying the so-called […]
Don’t forget I’m giving away United beverage vouchers and a free Gogo pass. HiltonHHonors is moving to less systemwide promotions. They announced on Milepoint that they’ll only have 2 this year, but they did not that they plan to have more targeted offers at different parts of the year. They’ll also have an announcement about the next promo coming up on Milepoint here. Qatar Airways really is shooting for world domination. So says View From the Wing. An actual nice hotel in New York City proper for under $50 a […]
A recent trip to New York’s LaGuardia airport provided me an acute reminder of the first day I decided I needed to sign up for Uber. I had flown into New York with my family late in the evening, landing at LaGuardia after 9pm because of departure delays. We stumbled out to the cab line to find the line stretching endlessly, with no cabs in sight. After about 30 minutes I was finally able to “convince” a Super Shuttle guy to squeeze us into one of his vans, our kids […]
