TARGETED 3X RDM/EQM Promotion From American Airlines
Double elite-qualifying miles promotions are really the cat’s meow of airline promos. TRIPLE promos are virtually unheard of. Take 30 seconds to check this one out.

Seven years ago a pilot used an immense amount of skill and luck to safely land US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River after a double engine failure. We went to see the movie Sully last night. Here are our thoughts.
Many moons ago Doug Parker, Scott Kirby and the gang at US Airways went through a cleansing process where they threw off pretty much everything they could on their planes to save on weight (ultimately leading to fuel savings). They also chose not to install power ports on those older planes to save on weight.
It’s hard to say they made the right decision, because customers crave power when they fly so they can power laptops, smartphones, iPads and more.
I’ve been accused from time to time of being an AA apologist. I think that label is a bit harsh, but there’s no question I’ve spent many years as an AA fan. That’s harder nowadays, but every once in a while I hear a story that gives me hope. Here’s one….
The Best of the Rest is my effort to summarize all the travel/miles & points stories that interested me on a daily basis but didn’t have time to write about in length. Culled from over 100 blogs/authors I follow, some are passed along without comment, while I add my analysis to others. This is your shortcut to find out what’s going on in the travel world without having to read dozens of travel blogs to get all the best info.

Follow me through this timeline here. Yesterday afternoon there was a bunch of noise about Scott Kirby, the President of American Airlines, apparently jumping ship to United Airlines. That was pretty shocking news given that Scott has been by Doug Parker’s side for over…
Scott Kirby, President of American Airlines, is leaving to take the same position at United. This one kinda came out of left field, but it seems he couldn’t come to terms with the succession plan at American.
American Airlines has been making a number of changes since completing their systems integration with US Airways. Some have come with notice, others (more recently) have not. Is this another mistake that will become policy soon?
