Hyatt is adding a new hotel to the Unbound collection, a new hotel brand it announced just a couple weeks ago. This deal was presumably in the works at that time, and now it’s official. It would seem Hyatt’s somewhat unique strategy amongst its larger peers helped contribute to adding this hotel to the Hyatt family.

Hyatt made us wait through the first 3 months of the year with no promotion but has rolled something out that’s more generous than 2015 offerings. It’s also a more rewarding promotion at both the top and for folks who only have a few stays planned.
Another terrorist attack causes us to look again at whether it’s safe and prudent to travel. The easy answer is to travel and not let the terrorists win. But, I’m not sure it’s just that simple.
It seems like every day we’re either talking about Marriott and SPG or travel to Cuba. The big story this morning is Marriott increasing their offer to buy Starwood Hotels.
