Cheap Flights To SFO, $30 Hertz Discount And Spirit Rolling Out PreCheck

a camera and map of the world

Here’s what I’m reading about today in the world of miles and points:

Cheap Flights of the Day: Coast to coast mileage run fares are back at $255 from NYC to SFO round-trip.

In Case You Missed It: Starwood Hotels is back in play.  Marriott has granted them permission to explore another offer.

New $30 Hertz credit from AMEX.

Spirit has decided to put PreCheck in place for their customers later this year.  I had my first Spirit flight late last year and it really wasn’t that bad.  They have a few flaws, including lack of reliability.  I wouldn’t necessarily call the lack of PreCheck a flaw.  But, in order to attract business travelers, PreCheck goes a long way.

Nick from One Mile at a Time doesn’t like Hyatt’s amenities, specifically the June Jacobs stuff at Grand Hyatts (turns out I didn’t know Ben doesn’t like them either).  Honestly, the June Jacobs stuff really doesn’t bother me, and I find the Bigelow stuff way too medicinal.  But, they both beat the old White Ginger stuff by a country mile.

Delta launching service between LAX and Beijing.

Free ice cream today!  Not as good as free donuts, but I’d never turn down ice cream.
