DEALS: 25k One-Way To Europe, As Low As 7,500 Miles One-Way To Hawaii
There are two award deals that caught my eye this morning. Technically, I saw one of them last night. There was an announcement on the front page of United.com about 25,000 mile one-way flights to Amsterdam. It was a one-day offer as part of a week-long series of similar offers.
Today’s offer is for 25,000 mile one-way flights to Frankfurt. The offer is listed as a deal for folks who hold a United credit card, so you’ll need to login to whichever United loyalty account is associated with your United credit card. The offer is listed as valid only for the primary cardholder but it does seem to work for folks who are additional cardmembers as well.
This is a discount of what would normally run about 40,000 miles in Economy. Not a screaming deal, but a solid value to consider. And, you definitely shouldn’t think of this as a flight to Frankfurt. Frankfurt is a massive Lufthansa hub, so you can get virtually anywhere in Europe from there. If you’re looking for a cheap(er) vacation to Europe and can travel in the next few months (these deals are valid on dates through early April) , this deal could work for you.
Here’s the link for the offer, though you can just search on the United site (as long as you’re logged in to the account that holds a United credit card). It appears there will be a new destination on Thursday and Friday of this week as well.
For folks looking to go somewhere warmer, this Alaska Airlines award sale to Hawaii may be more your speed. 7,500 miles one-way to Hawaii from many West coast cities is a pretty solid deal. The sale also offers 4,000 mile one-way flights in the continental US. That could be helpful if you live on the West coast and want to take a short flight somewhere. Alaska’s network East of the Rockies is nowhere near as strong as they are up and down the West coast. This deal needs to be booked by January 9th for travel through mid-March.
The Final Two Pennies
Airlines seem to be trying to find ways to fill some seats in the early part of 2025. I don’t think these will be the last deals we see, but both represent potential good values for your hard-earned miles. Happy Hunting!
