DON’T FORGET! Free Hotel Status Match Today (Jan 1st) Only

I wrote a few days ago about a limited-time status match opportunity that was free to all Bilt Rewards members.  That offer is active today and will remain active through the end of today (11:59pm PT).

Everyone can activate a status match for Accor ALL Silver status.  And, members with Bilt Rewards elite status can match to a higher level.

I activated the offer this morning and transferred 5,000 Bilt Rewards points to Accor for my status match to ALL Platinum.  That status comes with some valuable benefits.  I’m hoping to redeem the suite upgrade certificates at a Fairmont hotel in 2025!  The steps to activate status are pretty straightforward.  Here are some screenshots from the Bilt app on the steps to activate the status match:

The status match is in the “Your benefits” carousel near the top of the main screen on the app.

I hadn’t linked my ALL account to Bilt Rewards yet, so I needed to do that.

The linking process takes place in a separate window that pops up in the app.  You’ll need your ALL membership number.

Followed by a message confirming my accounts were linked.

Back in the Bilt app, there was a new message to “Swipe to activate”.

A confirmation screen followed.

And, a quick check to make sure I was me.

Finally, success!

The Final Two Pennies

I enjoy unique opportunities in the miles and points world.  While I love the Fairmont brand, I hadn’t stayed at one of their properties for quite some time (maybe 10 years).  This partnership between Bilt Rewards and Accor has encouraged me to start engaging with Accor and to start planning some Fairmont stays in 2025.  I’ve earned enough points this year with the Bilt Rewards Mastercard that sending 5,000 to ALL for the chance at some suite upgrades is a worthwhile opportunity for me.

You never know when free hotel or airline status can come in handy.  There are many cases over the years where folks have been able to use a status match opportunity like this to earn additional status with other loyalty programs.  You should definitely take advantage of this today.  If you have Bilt Platinum status, I would also say it’s worth considering the 5,000 point transfer to try out ALL Platinum for a year (and ALL Gold for another year after that if you don’t qualify for ALL Platinum again).
