New Hyatt Promotion Offering Up To Triple Points On Stays!

As a general rule, hotel promotions have been pretty mediocre the last few years.  The economy has improved, hotels are running higher occupancy, so not much of a surprise here.  That means that truly useful hotel promotions stick out more than in years past.

Hyatt Announces Triple Points Promotion

Hyatt changes the promotion landscape this fall with the announcement of a promotion that can earn you up to triple points on certain hotel stays:

Members can earn up to triple points on eligible spend starting with their second qualifying stay from September 15 through December 15, 2019, at participating hotels and resorts worldwide:

  • Members can earn triple points on eligible spend at any of the nearly 350 Hyatt Place hotels.
  • Members can earn double points on eligible spend at over 500 Hyatt hotels and resorts, 10 plus participating M life Rewards destinations, and more than 200 participating Small Luxury Hotels of the World hotels.

The good stuff?  That’s obvious.  Triple points on all Hyatt Place stays.  Double points on everything else is pretty darn good too.

The bad stuff?  Hyatt has some legacy Starwood Preferred Guest folks running the marketing and loyalty programs at Hyatt.  One of the annoying things that used to pop up in SPG promos was that the first stay was excluded from earning on promotions.  Well, that has reared its head at Hyatt.

Other than the first stay restriction, this is a pretty solid promotion.

You’ll need to register for the promotion.  Stop reading, click the link and do it now.  Then, finish reading.  I promise the rest of the post can wait.  It’ll take you 30 seconds.  Better to do so now than forget later and miss out on bonus points.

The Final Two Pennies

This will be the most valuable promotion for the fall of 2019, of that I’m sure.  I don’t think we’ve seen all the promotions we’re bound to see for the fall.  But, you can bet nobody is going to roll out something more valuable.  Hyatt points also go further than other chains, like Hilton or Marriott.  Consider, for the vast majority of the Hyatt family you’ll pay no more than 30,000 points per night for a free room.  That number can stretch to over 100,000 points per night with Hilton.  That, in and o itself, doesn’t make one program better than the other.  But, it does make triple points at Hyatt Place a great way to bulk up your balance this fall.
