Frontier is having a pretty solid fare sale right now. It’s 90% off the base fare, and it’s today only.
You’ll need to use the code SAVE90.
I’ve flown Frontier. It really wasn’t that bad. In fact, I joked that I didn’t die when I flew them, since there are so many folks in the blogsphere that like to beat on Frontier, Spirit, etc. I’ll touch on that a bit more in a minute, but there is one more important detail you need to know about this Frontier sale. There are a couple of handfuls of markets that don’t apply:
Atlanta, GA to/from Los Angeles, CA

The flights to Orlando and Vegas are unfortunate, in that they’re both popular leisure markets. But, there are still plenty of fun places you can go and take advantage of these fares.
You’ll need to book today for travel through October 4th. And, there are blackout dates. But, in a world of one-way flights and easy accrual of miles and points via credit cards, this fare sale will apply to a lot of folks.
The Final Two Pennies
Here’s what you need to know if you’re going to fly Frontier (feel free to substitute Spirit, etc here):
- Delays can and do happen. Carriers like Frontier are especially bad at handling them. They can’t move you to another airline. And, the combination of full planes and sometimes infrequent service mean it can be days before you find another flight.
- Pack light. Really, pack light. You’ll pay for a checked bag and/or a carry-on. So, try to pack as lightly as possible to save money.
- If you have to bring a bigger bag, consider purchasing a “bundle”. Frontier calls them “The Works”. They bundle together things like seat assignments, checked bags, carry-on bags, etc. You can save quite a bit of money (especially during ski season) with these bundles.
- Consider buying a better seat. The Frontier seat and tray table in regular coach is, um, sparse.
Bottom line, flying Frontier or Spirit comes with risks and can save a bunch of cash. Plan accordingly.
