The Best of the Rest is my effort to summarize all the travel/miles & points stories that interested me on a daily basis but didn’t have time to write about in length. Culled from over 100 blogs/authors I follow, some are passed along without comment, while I add my analysis to others. This is your shortcut to find out what’s going on in the travel world without having to read dozens of travel blogs to get all the best info.
American Airlines is offering status matches to Executive Platinum if you’re a United 1K. That’s good news for 1K and bad news for EXPs. I sure hope EXP doesn’t become the new 1K (a service I gave up because of United’s inability to run a proper airline).

Not sure how I missed this at CES, but darker windows are coming to the Dreamliner. I’ve flown on the Dreamliner a number of times and the windows have never really bothered me. Then again, I sleep with an eye mask. But, even without a mask the cabin is relatively dark (but not pitch black) when the windows are all dimmed.
