Two New Dots On The Domestic US Hyatt Map

Hyatt has been doing a ton of development overseas, with a very rich pipeline.  But, the US hasn’t seen nearly the same level of development.  Hyatt lacks properties in some key markets, where in others it lacks “depth of brand”, offering only one or two of their brands in a major market. The two new additions are in markets they already have properties but could definitely use another. First, the Denver market is getting a new Hyatt property that is unique while adding some well-known labels to the market.  Hyatt […]

Giveaway! Share Your Family Memories For A Chance To Win Cool Stuff From Hyatt, Hertz And More.

Summer was always a time of great memories for me as a kid.  As I got older and entered the work force, summer was just a hotter drive to and from work and a lot less traffic in the DC area.  It took having kids to really remember how great summer can be.  I’ve teamed up with MommyPoints and Points, Miles & Martinis to serve up a great summer giveaway to help you make your own fun memories this year. But first, I wanted to share a few of my memories.  We grew up […]

Hyatt House Improvements: Better Breakfast And Recognition For Frequent Guests

Even though I’m a self-avowed  Hyatt Homer TM, I think I’m on fairly solid ground the Hyatt House brand represents some of the best quality in extended stay properties for the US market.  Virtually all of these properties have either been built or renovated in the last 3 years.  That means clean, consistent products across the chain of Hyatt House properties.  You won’t find a Hyatt House in every market (though they have over 50 properties open and growing) but when you do you’ll be in good hands.  And, Hyatt […]

Hyatt Filling In Two More Areas On The Map

Don’t forget to enter my giveaway for a free Briggs & Riley TORQ suitcase! Hyatt is dropping two more pins on the map in places where they’re currently a bit under served. First up, construction is under way for a new Hyatt House in downtown Salt Lake City. Hyatt has a few properties in Utah but only one downtown, a Hyatt Place. I’d rather see a full-service property like a Hyatt Regency, but I’m glad to see more presence in downtown. Limited service/extended stay is an area I think Hyatt […]

Hyatt Expanding Again, In Asia And Central America

2 quick tidbits expanding the Hyatt network: Park Hyatt Busan has opened marking the second Park Hyatt in South Korea and the 10th in Asia.  I’m a huge fan of the Park Hyatt brand.  The Park Hyatt Tokyo is a favorite of mine.  I’m always happy to see another Park Hyatt pop up.  This property appears to be entering the program as a Category 4, which means 15,000 Gold Passport points per night. Hyatt has also announced development of two new properties in Panama, a Hyatt Place and Hyatt House. […]

Hyatt Finally Has A Property Where They Started: LAX Airport

Hyatt announced the grand opening of the Hyatt Place Los Angeles/LAX/El Segundo.  Gotta love one of the longest official names for a hotel I’ve ever seen.  Hyatt started as Hyatt House when the Pritzker family bought the property adjacent to LAX back in 1957.  55 years later, they’re back.  Time sure flies. Hyatt Place is a limited-service brand, but their newly built properties are much better than the AmeriSuites properties they took over 5 or 6 years ago.  As a new build, they’re actually pretty decent properties, at/near the top […]
