American Airlines lost a battle in court to discontinue paying for retiree benefits. They essentially wanted to stop making payments they promised to make so retirees could have medical and life insurance. The judge rightfully said no. Even if they had the legal right to do so, this is just a bad idea.
American AIrlines and US Airways are having a great fare sale to the Caribbean, with dates available through March of 2015. Labor Day and Christmas are blacked out but Thanksgiving looks available.
Starwood has announced their summer 2014 promo, entitled “Earn Away, Get Away.” It’s essentially double Starpoints unless you can include a Sunday night stay to bump it up to triple points. On par, it’s about as valuable as the previous promo “Bring on the Nights”.
