Did You Get Upgraded? Hyatt Is Upgrading Some Folks To M Life Noir Status

What can I say?  I’m a status nerd.  I had read last week somewhere (apologies to the blog that I read it on, I can’t find the post now) that Hyatt was awarding M Life Noir status to some lucky Hyatt Globalist members.  It was in the back of my head when I started searching through my e-mail for a Hyatt reservation.  So, when I saw the subject line, “You’ve Been Upgraded to M life Rewards Elite Status” I was excited!

As you can see, M Life Noir status will give me:

  • 40% Bonus on M life Rewards Points Earned Playing Slots
  • Guaranteed Advance Hotel and Restaurant Reservations
  • Complimentary Limousine Service to/from Nearest Airport with Hotel Stay

Noir status also comes with some nifty perks like VIP Lounge access in all of the MGM casinos in Las Vegas and guaranteed advance restaurant recommendations.  The VIP lounges are tucked away in most of the MGM properties and provide a much nicer check-in experience as well as complimentary drinks and snacks.  Here’s an example of where you find the VIP Lounge at Bellagio.

The Final Two Pennies

I’m not sure what would have happened if I didn’t notice that e-mail.  My inbox has been doing an impression of the Bermuda Triangle for a few years now, so I’m not surprised I missed it the first time.  I’m guessing this is targeted at Globalist members, so be sure to check your e-mail if you are.  I’m a lifetime Globalist who spends a decent chunk of change each year with Hyatt for business travel.  I also have a fair amount of travel to Las Vegas each year for business.  I would guess I fit the “target” for this one quite nicely.  😉

This isn’t the first time I’ve had Noir status.  Hyatt and MGM handed it out to some folks who attended the announcement of their partnership back oil 2013.  While I don’t party at the clubs or gamble at high levels holding Noir status back then was pretty cool.  I’m excited to be targeted as part of this promotion.  Hyatt used to be in the “surprise and delight” business, it’s one of the reasons I grew to love the chain.  I hope this is a return to those roots.

  1. Spent a few thousand on a group dinner last year at a MGM property so I think that’s why I was targeted… yay!
