Disney Vacation Club Members Only Event Schedule At Walt Disney World
There seems to be a growing trend of special events open only to Disney Vacation Club members at Disney World. Disney Vacation Club (DVC) is Disney’s version of a timeshare. Members purchase an allotment of points they can use each year for stays at various DVC properties. As part of last year’s anniversary celebration, Disney offered extra benefits like retail discounts and private lounges at Disney World to treat DVCmembers more special.
There were some special events earlier in 2017 that I missed. Fellow DVC member perryplatypus brought them to my attention. There are two great benefits to these special events. First, they’re included in the cost of your DVC membership. Unlike a ticket to the Halloween or Christmas celebrations, these events are free for DVC members. Second, since the entry is restricted, you’re bound to find much shorter lines for rides and experiences. Heck, there was even free food at the most recent events.
After a bit of searching, I found a list of events occurring on almost a monthly basis throughout the rest of the year. Here’s what you can expect for the remainder of 2017:
Moonlight Magic at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park:
Guests can enter the water park for free starting at 7:30 pm and stay until as late at 11:30 pm on the following dates:
- Friday, June 23rd
- Wednesday, June 28th
- Wednesday, July 5th
- Thursday, July 13th
Registration is required to attend.
Moonlight Magic at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park:
Guest can enter Animal Kingdom for free on:
- Wednesday, September 6th
- Wednesday, September 13th
There’s no firm entry time as of yet, and you’ll need to register ahead of time if you want to attend. You can check the website for updates on timing.
Moonlight Magic at EPCOT:
Moonlight Magic comes to EPCOT for DVC members on a couple of dates in December, 2017:
- Monday, December 4th
- Monday, December 11th
Registration is required, though not open as of yet.
BONUS: Moonlight Magic at Disneyland in California
For those who live or plan on traveling to the West coast, Disneyland will host Moonlight Magic on November 15, 2017.
The Final Two Pennies
Tickets to Disney get more expensive every year. Disney Vacation Club members make big financial commitments to Disney, mostly because we’re just a little nutty about all things Disney. I’ve always liked events like the Halloween and Christmas parties. They limit attendance, making lines for popular rides shorter. But, those tickets are usually at least $70. The DVC member events are free. The expenses add up quickly on a Disney World trip. I’ll take a free day at the parks!

We own DVC and am pretty impressed at the amount of free events they’ve added. Unfortunately, we haven’t had trips planned during those times…but it’s nice to see they continue to offer these perks.
Thanks for the heads up. Being local, we love these events. Just went to the one at MK and are planning on Typhoon Lagoon.
