Marriott is giving away a pair of tickets to Super Bowl LI. All you have to do is download their app and request something through the app. More details on their website.
Marriott is showing off the functionality to request towels, toothpaste and other items while on property. I believe this is a new feature for the app, though I haven’t had a ton of Marriott stays. They’re also encouraging folks to use the app as a way to communicate with a hotel before and during your stay.
Hyatt has similar functionality that I tested when it was rolled out. I really appreciate this type of functionality from hotel chains. Calling a hotel operator to ask for things in your room is generally a painful process. The phone lines are generally not well-staffed. The phone isn’t always answered in a timely manner. Staff members don’t always fulfill requests accurately. Technology helps reduce the friction on simple requests.
And, Marriott is offering up a pair of Super Bowl tickets just for giving it a try. I have an upcoming Marriott stay, so I’ll definitely test it out and report back to you guys. And, heck, maybe win a pair of Super Bowl tickets. 😉
