I’m generally behind the curve when it comes to new TV shows. I’ve never heard of Amazon’s new series “Mozart in the Jungle”, but it’s the second year in a row Amazon has won an award for a TV show and subsequently discounted Amazon Prime.
It’s normally $99 a year but they’ve discounted the first year to $73 if you sign up by tomorrow night.
There are a number of benefits to Prime membership. The original reason I got it years ago was free unlimited 2-day shipping from Amazon on virtually everything.
My favorite reason for Amazon Prime is that I have access to free same-day shipping. They’ve rolled that out in a bunch of markets around the country. For me, I live a solid 20 miles from Washington, DC and I’m still in the “same-day” shipping area. Even if you don’t live right in a big city, there’s still a great chance you’re in the same-day coverage area.
But, it also now includes:
Unlimited, ad-free access to over a million songs
Instant streaming of thousands of movies and TV shows with Prime Video.
- Offline access to a decent chunk of their movie and TV library.
- Unlimited photo storage in Amazon Cloud
- Free access to Kindle First in the Kindle Owners’ Library
Until Sunday, January 17th at 11:59 p.m., PT, new members can join Amazon Prime for $73 for the first year and enjoy member-only benefits and content, including our Golden Globe Award-winning series, Mozart In The Jungle. Although the price in your cart will show $99, the promotion discount will be applied at checkout. You will be charged when you place your order.
Amazon Prime is totally worth it for a number of different reasons and these awards are the only times in the past two years I can recall Amazon discounting it. You’ll pay $99 in future years, but it’s a solid value. I receive a referral credit if you purchase Amazon Prime through these links. It’s appreciated and helps defray my wife’s Amazon addiction.
