Cyber Monday Sales To Follow And Thanksgiving At 40,000 Feet
The Best of the Rest is my effort to summarize all the travel/miles & points stories that interested me on a daily basis but didn’t have time to write about in length. Culled from over 100 blogs/authors I follow, some are passed along without comment, while I add my analysis to others. This is your shortcut to find out what’s going on in the travel world without having to read dozens of travel blogs to get all the best info.
Here’s what I’m reading about today:
Cheap Flights of The Day: airberlin has flights just under $500 to Prague. Beautiful city. I’m guessing we’ll see some more cheap fares out of airberlin given their recent expansion to multiple cities in the US.
InsideFlyer Thread of The Day: A Park Hyatt that’s now high on my list when it opens next year.
Mommy Points has put together a great list of Cyber Monday deals you should look into, including a potentially great Cyber Monday sale SPG is throwing.
Are you a member of Global Entry, the United States’ shortcut through customs for US residents (and a few select others)? You might be interested in the UK program, especially since you don’t have to be a UK resident to register.
How to get a free pass to one of the toughest visits to see Santa.
Did the airlines play a practical joke on him? If so, is it in poor taste?
I missed this story a few weeks ago, but it appears the St. Regis San Clemente Palace in Venice is leaving SPG. Magic of Miles doesn’t think this is a terribly big loss for SPG, but I disagree. Sure, the property needed some TLC when we visited last year(part 1 and part 2 of my review). For folks who want to be in the middle of the Venice, it’s not for you.
But, this is a truly unique property. The history here is incredible and the property itself is beautiful. I didn’t have too much of a problem with the room decor, though I could see reasonable minds disagreeing. It’s properties like this that make SPG special, different from the competitors (the Hotel Danieli is another such hotel nearby in Venice). Sorry to see it go.
