$50 off at Westin and In-Flight Tech Tips. Best of the Rest For September 8, 2015
The Best of the Rest is my effort to summarize all the travel/miles & points stories that interested me on a daily basis but didn’t have time to write about in length. On a daily basis, I try to keep track of roughly 100 different blogs (try being the operative word) that have interesting things for you and I to learn from. Some are passed along without comment, while I add my analysis to others. This is your shortcut to find out what’s going on in the travel world without having to read dozens of travel blogs to get all the best info.
Here’s what I’m reading about today:
Cheap Flight(s) of The Day: Nothing stellar. Best I see is DC to Rio for ~$550.
5 tech tips for your next flight. There are a few here that were new to me.
$50 off a Westin stay for eligible AMEX cardholders.
Ever wonder why some bloggers talk about credit card sign-up bonuses for non-US based airlines even if you live in the US? There can be a lot of value there, especially with British Airways’ Avios for short flights on American Airlines in the US. Lufthansa can also be helpful for the same sorts of things. Since I’m not an expert on this, I figured some of my readers might find value in Matthew Klint’s post on how to redeem Lufthansa miles for United flights.
This one might be dead now, since it hit Slickdeals. But, a $100 iTunes gift card for $75 is the lowest price I’ve seen.
More great tales from Terry Maxon. This time it’s Gordon Bethune.
Bee stings and, er, um, peeing in the bushes. I had to laugh at this.
