Don’t forget to enter my giveaway for Milepoint Premium Membership!
Southern Travel Girl has the scoop on a pretty cool giveaway from one of my favorite companies, Apple. They’re doing a promotion starting the day after Christmas called the 12 days of Christmas, where you can download something free every day. Pretty cool after Christmas fun.
Wandering Aramean provides a compelling comparison of Systemwide Upgrades across the domestic US legacy carriers. He arrives at the same conclusion that I did (though admittedly with less bias than me) that American is still likely the best for SWUs. I’m still hoping Delta’s move keeps American from devaluing their SWUs.
Good News! The friendlier United no longer allows Singapore Airlines award flights to be booked on their website. It’s likely through significant pressure from Singapore Airlines themselves, but just another kick in the teeth to folks who collect United miles and actually dare to redeem them for an aspirational trip.
Heels First Travel has a first look at Hyatt’s new adult all-inclusive in Cancun.
Here’s hoping that British Airways’ recent changes regarding household accounts is the future of mileage redemption. Lucky details the changes recently announced by BA. I think this is a big plus for extended families to be able to pool orphan miles to get something valuable out of them. Miles aren’t technically something you own, but since we all work hard to earn them, it’s good to see an airline give a nod to making it easier to use all the miles you earn.
I hope your travels are taking you somewhere fun this week!
Thanks for the mention… 😉 Also, meant to comment, but I loved your post on the Ice Museum!
Thanks, Susan! The kids had a good time even if I still can’t feel my fingers on the hand I was using to snap pictures. And, thanks for the 12 days of Apple info!
