Hyatt Announces A New Fall Promo: Double Points (And Double Nights At All-Inclusives)
Hyatt announced a new promo today that offers members the opportunity to earn increased rewards and a potential fast-track to elite status. In an environment where hotel promos have been lackluster or absent, the new Hyatt promo should be a nice bonus for fall travel. Let’s take a look at the two components.
Double Points On Stays Of 2 Nights Or More
Starting September 15th, 2022 and continuing through December 20th, 2022 members can earn double base points on all stays of two nights or more. You’ll earn an additional five bonus points for each dollar spent on these stays, including (in most cases) any meals or other charges you charge to your room. In some states, alcohol isn’t eligible for earning. And, some properties outsource some restaurants and/or leisure activities. But, in most cases dinner in a hotel restaurant is a way to earn extra points during a hotel stay.
You’ll need to register for the promotion and can do so now. You need to register before your first stay and no later than November 15th, 2022. As long as you register for the promotion prior to your arrival, even stays booked prior to the start of the promo are eligible.
Double Nights Credit At All-Inclusive Properties
Hyatt is also awarding double night credits for any stays at Inclusive Collection properties. Hyatt has grown the collection of all-inclusive properties to a total of 65, including a big influx of properties with their acquisition of Apple Vacations.
You can see a list of the new all-inclusive properties on the Hyatt website. The enrollment of these properties into the World of Hyatt program is ongoing, though many have already been added.
The great thing about this particular promotion is that the double nights credit counts on award stays as well. While you might not go out of your way to choose an all-inclusive property for an upcoming vacation, if you find one in an area you’re looking to explore this fall the Bonus Journeys promo could be a great opportunity to fast-track elite status this year.
The Final Two Pennies
You should always register for these promotions as soon as you’re able to. Even if you don’t have plans to stay at a Hyatt property during the promotion period, plans change. You might not remember to register later on if plans change. Double points on stays of two nights or more is pretty rewarding in the current climate. One of the reasons I like this promotion is because it doesn’t make members wait until their second stay during the promo period, a common restriction for many hotel promos.
We could spend our time lamenting the fact that hotel promos aren’t as strong as they were in the past. But, this is one of the first promos I’ve seen in a while that’s very straight forward, making it easy to earn double points on your next stay. It may not help the true road warrior who only has 1-night stays. However, everyone else traveling will have an opportunity to earn extra points this fall. And, if an all-inclusive property is in your future then a higher level of elite status is also a possibility.
