The One Credit Card I’ll Be Using On Black Friday
I earn affiliate credit if you sign up for the Bilt Rewards Mastercard using links in this story.
This Black Friday you’ll see all kinds of discounts and promotions. I’ll be taking advantage of many of them, for sure. By the time the weekend is over I’ll have most of our holiday shopping. And, for the first time I can recall, I’ll be using one card only for all of my purchases. I’ll be earning 5 points per dollar on all my spending tomorrow, and you can too (thanks to instant approvals and digital card numbers).
I carry around a lot of credit cards. My current rotation for personal purchases consists of:
- American Express Gold Card
- Citi Double Cash
- Citi Premier Card
- World of Hyatt Visa
- Chase Ink Plus
- Citi Costco Card
I also have a Chase Sapphire card and some version of a Marriott credit card, though I don’t recall which. And, I was just approved for the Capital One Venture X (hello, 10X on all Disney vacations). However, there’s one card that’s getting all my spend tomorrow:
The Bilt Rewards Mastercard is already a solid card for non-renters after recent changes and pretty much essential for the wallet of every renter:
- No annual fee
- 1 point per dollar on rent (up to $50K per year)
- 2 points per dollar on travel
- 3 points per dollar on dining
And, after the temporary transfer bonus from Citi Premier ended recently, Bilt is the only program that allows you to easily transfer your points 1:1 to American Airlines.
For Black Friday, they’re offering 5 points per dollar on everything you charge (except rent). No minimums, no registration links, no hassle. Just 5X points every time you swipe or purchase something online.
If you don’t already have the card, it’s actually not too late. Bilt does instant approvals and they’ll give you a digital card number you can use immediately.
Since Bilt is fairly new it’s invitation-only. But, if you sign up at Bilt Rewards today you’ll immediately get bumped to the front of the line.
My buddy and frequent podcast co-host Richard Kerr is part of the Bilt Rewards team. He has some fancy title that I don’t remember, but he’s essentially part of a small team eating the lunch of other long-established cards/loyalty programs.
The Final Two Pennies
If you’re like me and spend money frequently on travel and dining (and especially if you’re a renter) this no annual fee card is a no-brainer.
You can transfer your points to American, Flying Blue, Hawaiian, Turkish Airlines, Hyatt and more. And, you can earn 5 points per dollar on all your Black Friday shopping.
No annual fee. Great transfer partners. 5X on everything you buy on Black Friday. If that doesn’t make a ton of sense, I don’t know what does.
