DC Travel Meet-Up: GeekyPizza Comes Back To Clarendon

I felt really badly that I had to cancel our last happy hour that we had scheduled in Reston, Virginia.  My partner-in-crime Jeanne has been working hard on locking up a venue for or next travel meet-up.

We constantly get asked to have events in a specific part of the DC area or on a specific day of the week.  We’ve had a fair number of people ask us for a weekend event.  For those folks who have trouble committing to something during the week, this is the event for you:

  • When: Saturday, March 10th at 2pm
  • Where: Bar Bao in Clarendon

Bar Bao is located right across the street from Clarendon Station on both the Orange and Silver lines of Metro.  There’s also likely to be significantly less traffic on a weekend.  This travel meet-up should be easy for many folks to reach.

So we can make sure we have enough space for everyone, please RSVP here.

What Happens At A Travel Meet-Up

These events are attended by newbies and experts alike.  Jeanne (who writes the blog Le Chic Geek) and I answer as many questions as we can.  If we can’t answer your question, I bet one of the attendees can.  We’ll be sure to find you the answer you need.  As Jeanne mentioned in her post, we can answer questions about:

  • Strategies to earn more miles and points
  • Cheap airfare strategies
  • Family travel
  • Vegas strategies
  • Much more!

Can’t wait to see everyone there!

  1. Ed, I love reading your posts. You have a very engaging way about you. So, thank you for sharing all of this info! However, i am a total newbie. I have zero miles and frankly a really small budget. Where do I start? Do you have any resources to recommend, old posts? Is the meetup a place to start?
    Thanks in advance!

    1. Hi, Nensi. We were all newbies at some point. The good news is you don’t have to spend a fortune to earn miles. We start by looking for things you do normally now and figuring out how to earn miles from them.
The travel meetups are a great place to meet folks who love travel and aren’t afraid to ask questions. We can also do coffee. 🙂
