Awesome Deal! $1,000 BUSINESS CLASS Round-Trip To Chile!
I cover plenty of cheap flights here on my blog, but most of them involve economy class. Some of those are upgradable to business class, most are not. I tend to like a bed when I’m flying long distances, especially overnight. That’s why this deal is pretty high on my list!
Right now, you can get a round-trip flight in business class from New York to Santiago, Chile for just over $1,000. The Flight Deal has all the details.
This fare appears to be available for a wide range of dates starting this month and stretching to almost the end of next year. Santiago is near the west coast of South America, and it’s fairly far south. While I haven’t been, I’ve heard good things about Santiago. And, there are plenty of places to jump off to from there.
As an extra bonus, AeroMexico (the airline offering this sale) operates the 787 on these routes!
If You Chase Elite Status
If you’re a Delta elite (or aspire to be), these flights are huge when it comes to qualifying for status. Ben notes that these fares earn 200% elite qualifying miles and redeeming miles. Plus, you’ll earn about 5,000 MQDs, the dollar tracking that you need to qualify for status as well. One roundtrip flight would qualify you for Silver status with Delta.
The Final Two Pennies
The important thing to remember with any fare sale is not to think of this as “New York to Santiago, Chile”. This is from the US to South America. New York is a fairly easy area to find cheap/mileage flights to with so many airports in the region. And, there are enough carriers in South America to get somewhere else if you don’t want to hang out in Chile.
Since these flights originate in the US, you’ll have 24 hours after you book to cancel these flights and receive a full refund. That means if you’re on the fence you should probably book something and then cancel within 24 hours if you decide not to take the trip. With prices this low, I don’t expect them to last much longer!
Happy Hunting!

What’s Chase Elite status?
Matt, “chase” as a verb. As in, if you’re one of those people who chase elite status with the airlines. 😉
Fare is gone but thanks anyway.
@geoff – could be your dates. but we still see it on ITA, priceline and expedia at 11:00am Eastern
I’m still seeing it as well.
Meh, Aeromexico. Hard to get excited about this, esp at this price point. LATAM is way better and pretty affordable with miles for a non-stop. Plus, skyteam alliance sucks all around.
Ed, not everyone has a pile of miles. 🙂
I think this is a pretty solid fare.
Thanks. My bad Ed. Found it. I might run it just to grab the MQM’s.
No worries, glad you found it. If I chased DL status I’d definitely book one of these. I still might.
