Could You Imagine? Lucky Passengers Win $10,000 Shopping Spree
Most people don’t enjoy air travel. It’s understandable, considering seats are smaller and planes are more crowded. There’s all kinds of new rules and fees that add to the stress. Add to that surprises like mechanical delays and irrational passengers. Traveling can be a challenge for many folks. But, what if you got the ultimate surprise?
That’s exactly what happened to David and Laura Minor. They were the billionth passenger (well, one of them was) to come through DFW since the year 2000. It happened in December, and they were invited back to the airport for a $10,000 shopping spree. They had 10 minutes to complete their shopping spree, but they had a plan:
“When we first learned we were selected to represent the billionth customer milestone, we were pretty shocked and surprised,” said Laura Minor. “Honestly, we’d just returned from an amazing honeymoon in Australia, and learning we would get a $10,000 shopping spree, we just couldn’t feel luckier. I had a great time racing through the Airport, picking out a Coach purse, a Macbook Pro, and of course my husband David made sure to grab an authentic Dak Prescott jersey.”
They apparently had a good plan because they spent every penny of the $10,000. Here’s a full list of gifts they selected:

The Final Two Pennies
My wife’s first comment was, “You fly a lot. Why couldn’t you end up being the billionth passenger?” I think I’d be pretty pumped to take a crack at a $10,000 shopping spree. I think it also says a lot about where airport retail has gone, given they got a top-notch computer, great luggage and my favorite mini speaker. I’m guessing that was part of the point of what DFW was trying to highlight. 😉
