SUPER Cheap Fares To Europe, Wyndham’s New Elite Program And How Not To Take Sex Toys Through Airport Security
Here’s what I’m reading about today in the world of travel:
Cheap Flights of the Day: Super cheap fares of just over $300 round-trip to multiple destinations in Europe! Good Sao Paulo fares, just a bit above $500. There are also some Iceland fares for under $500. These aren’t as low as some of the Wow Air sales but it’s a pretty good fare given that it’s valid for summer travel.
In Case You Missed It: Up to 50,000 bonus miles for travel to Europe. And, beware of Marriott password changes!
Wyndham Rewards announces their new elite program. They’ve actually got some really interesting perks for elite members. This is definitely not a “me too” copy of someone else’s program. Worth looking into, even though I’m not a fan of most of their brands.
Two hotels are suing to block the Starwood/Marriott merger. I have to think that there are provisions in the franchise agreements of these hotels that would nullify such claims. And yet, two hotels are paying their lawyers a lot of cash to file suit. I’ll be interested to see if this develops into a real issue.
25 free Hertz Rewards points and a pretty good promo for rental cars.
A chance to fly the Boeing 787 Dreamliner without leaving North America.
A cool new tool from Hilton allows you to see the surroundings of your hotel before you check-in as noted by The Gate (which should make selecting your room ahead of time a bit more valuable for folks particular on their room).
The prices for parking at MGM Resorts in Las Vegas have been released, but there are ways to still park there for free.
RFID comes to luggage tags at airports, which should make it much easier to track lost bags.
This is how NOT to take sex toys through airport security.
Up to $500 for opening a new Chase bank account.
A decent award sale for Delta SkyMiles members.
Interesting take on free speech. A group of union members from Southwest Airlines are suing Chicago-Midway airport.
A photo essay of the first cruise ship’s voyage to Cuba in decades.
