Cheap Flights to Athens And Lufthansa Offering Paid Upgrades
The Best of the Rest is my effort to summarize all the travel/miles & points stories that interested me on a daily basis but didn’t have time to write about in length. Culled from over 100 blogs/authors I follow, some are passed along without comment, while I add my analysis to others. This is your shortcut to find out what’s going on in the travel world without having to read dozens of travel blogs to get all the best info.
Here’s what I’m reading about today:

One of my goals for 2016 is to quickly re-qualify for SPG Platinum status before the Marriot acquisition and any potential changes to lifetime status. SPG discloses why they didn’t like Hyatt’s offer to take over the Marriott. Not surprisingly, it has to do with Hyatt’s unique operating agreement.
International travel is tons of fun. But, it does have risks. Jessie does a good job framing up a few scary situations here. You can definitely learn something from her experiences.
There are lots of different ways to hit the minimum spending required to earn a credit card bonus. Million Mile Secrets gives his take on this Doctor of Credit shortcut to $1,000 in spending.
