My Wife Finds a Pretty Cheap Airport Shower Option
My lovely wife and I definitely have different perspectives on certain things. She wrote a post this morning about the yoga studio at DFW and started a list of other airports where you can find yoga areas. For the record, I’ve walked by that yoga studio dozens of times and still don’t recall ever seeing anyone in it, but I digress.
I was asked by a Twitter follower if there were any yoga facilities at LAX or DTW. I deferred to Michelle since I had no idea. She couldn’t find anything at LAX, but did post a reply for what she found at DTW:
And, of course, the first thing I thought of was, “Hey, that’s a pretty cheap way to grab a shower after a long international flight.”
I did call the hotel real quick to confirm. Located at the Edward H. McNamara/World Gateway Terminal, they do offer $15 day passes to the gym, which has a locker room and showers. And, they do rent workout clothes and shoes if you really want to work out. Uh, yeah.
So, there you have it. A pretty affordable option for a shower off an international flight, especially if you have to head to a meeting when you land. And, since there aren’t all that many lounges in the airport (Delta and Lufthansa only, iirc), something to keep in the back of your mind if you have a long flight to DTW.
