Pizza Week In Review For September 6, 2015

a beach and mountains with water

The last week before Labor Day almost didn’t involve an airplane for me but I did end up on a quick day trip to Boston.  Sadly, my meeting took place during the Yankees-Red Sox game so I didn’t get to see the Yanks chalk up another win against the basement dwelling Red Sox.  Our daughter went back to school this week and we’re getting ready for our son to go back next week.  Here’s what happened this week on the blog:

Unsurprisingly, this post about “Tinder for frequent travelers” was the biggest draw of the week.  Setting aside my annoyance with their lack of understanding on what the Mile High club actually is, I’ll be utterly shocked and disappointed if this ever gains widespread popularity.  Then again, the last time I said that about an app, it was Facebook.  Look for your social media guidance elsewhere.

SPG launched a contest you should be playing every day in the month of September.  Quick and easy, great prizes!

SPG also launched their new promo for the fall.  I think it will appeal to a broader group of members than some of the recent promos.

My lovely wife branched out from travel health and reviewed some new luggage designed for women.

Amazon Prime rolled out some great new changes.

I also wrapped up a short 2-post review on the gorgeous, brand-new Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner, VA.  This is truly one of my favorite Hyatts in the country now.

Week In Review

Meanwhile, Hyatt suddenly lost a property I really like.

It amazes me more than a little that TWA still lives on, though not in a way I would have ever expected.

A great time-lapse video!

US Airways broke their website for a little while and did a bad job telling us.

A simple Twitter discussion on award availability turns into a deeper discussion on what you should expect.

Triple Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points (might be targeted).

I took a look at my travel schedule for the year, and I still have trips to Denver, Las Vegas, Dublin (with a stopover in Istanbul, of course), Los Angeles, Orlando, Dallas, Madison and Guadeloupe and Martinique (on those ultra-low Norwegian fares).  And, I’ll be hitting a fair number of these places more than once.

Where do your travels take you next?
