See What’s Coming Up On The Blog
If you read my post yesterday about some of the humorous epic fails from our trip, you may have gotten the impression that some more time planning that trip would have likely removed some of the self-inflicted road blocks. The reality is that I need a few more hours in the day to keep up with everything on my plate. Who doesn’t?
While I was on the road in Europe for the last two weeks, I did my best to keep up on blogging as well as reading all the blogs I follow. One of the posts I flagged was this one from Brian at the Gate about how long it actually takes to put together a good trip report. Boy, does he hit the nail on the head! And yet, I love writing trip reports because I get to relive that journey in my mind while I put the details together for you. With that being said, I’m officially a year behind on posting updates on places we’ve visited. My goal is to make a big push over the next 30 days to see if I can put a serious dent in that backlog. In case anyone is trying to plan trips now for a visit I haven’t written about yet, I thought it would be helpful to list what you can expect to see coming up (essentially a brief overview of my last 12 months of travel). I’m happy to answer questions in the interim about any of these places. Here’s what to look forward to (and hold my feet to the fire on):

Whew! That’s one heck of a list. And, there’s more than just this. Seriously, I don’t like being that far behind, since there’s plenty of valuable information to be shared here. I’ll be doing my best to churn through this list over the next month. I’m sure I won’t complete them all in August, but I hope to knock out a decent chunk.
I booked the family into the Delano in Las Vegas next month…..would love to get any thoughts before in case we need to accommodate.
Matt, I do like the Delano, especially if you’ve got the family with you. There’s no gambling in the lobby (though it’s a short walk to Mandalay). The rooms are nice but VERY white. They’re also in very good shape. The crowd tends to skew a bit younger there, so while I don’t think you’ll get ugly looks from people I wouldn’t expect a lot of other children. If you like seafood/sushi, there’s a place in Mandalay called RM Seafood that I love. The same chef runs Boiler Room, right upstairs from RM. Both are excellent. Let me know what other questions I can answer for you.
