Check Your Mail! Hyatt Credit Card Spend Bonus

I got a nice surprise in the mail today. I normally pitch all my credit card offers that arrive via mail and this one almost ended up in the trash. It was from Hyatt, and it looked like it was just an announcement for their current hotel promotion.
Instead, it turned out to be a nifty bonus offer. Spend $6,000 between April 1st and June 30, 2013 and earn 6,000 bonus points.
At first, I thought this might be an offer because I hadn’t been using the card much lately. But, then I saw that Scott over at Hack My Trip received a similar offer. Based on the notes in his post, it seems he’s using his card more actively right now trying to earn some extra stay credits towards Diamond status by hitting some spending thresholds.
And I can see some people on Milepoint commenting on various offers as well, as high as 25,000 bonus points for $25,000 in spend.
I have a ton of Hyatt points already and would prefer to earn in other categories, but I can’t really beat a total of 4 points per dollar for my Hyatt purchases (versus the normal 3).
Just another reminder that junk mail sometimes isn’t junk!
