American Eagle Ending Service in Puerto Rico??

Ugh.  One of the great things about AA over the years has been their frequent schedule to pretty much everything Caribbean.

I was a bit disappointed when AA cut IAD-SJU about 18 month ago.  But, I still had a ton of options to get to places in the Caribbean.  And, always a decent amount of award seats available.

Now, Bloomberg is reporting American Eagle is most likely cutting service at SJU.  I feel like I should have seen this coming.  AA has redundant service ex-MIA, and in a bankruptcy redundancy has a way of ending up on the cutting room floor.

Profitability doesn’t always jibe with customer-friendly policy.  And, in this case, it’s likely to be profitability that wins out.
