Southwest is targeting some members with an offer to earn 6,000 Southwest points just for signing up for their newsletter and opening a couple of e-mails.

Jen from Deals We Like has the full scoop.

You’ll need to check the promotions page in your Southwest account.  The offer requires you to be subscribed to their newsletter for at least 6 months.  You’ll receive 3,000 points after 3 months and another 3,000 points after 6 months.  You also need to open an e-mail from Southwest every 60 days.  Easy, right?

If you’re targeted for this offer, it’s a pretty easy way to earn $6,000 points.  Jen notes that you may need to have an active Southwest credit card during the 6 month period you’re subscribed to the newsletter.  Alas, nobody in my family was eligible for this offer.  Hopefully, someone you know can take advantage of it!
