A Few Days Left To Get 100,000 Point Chase Sapphire Reserve Bonus Online
100,000 point sign-up bonuses don’t come along very often. They come along even less frequently for Chase credit cards that earn Ultimate Rewards points.
The Chase Sapphire Reserve has been the big talk of the miles and points world the last few months. The 100,000 point sign-up bonus is the largest I can recall for a card that earns Ultimate Rewards points.
Note: I don’t have referral links for this card. Just want to alert folks that things are changing if you’re considering applying for this card.
According to The Points Guy, it appears the bonus for online applications is supposed to drop to 50,000 points on January 12th. You should be able to get the 100,000 point bonus in a branch for the next couple of months. But, you should apply now if you’re interested. You’ll feel silly if it goes away after you decide to take the plunge.
The Chase Sapphire Reserve comes with a hefty $450 annual fee. That being said, there are plenty of positives:
- $300 travel credit each year, can be applied to a wide variety of charges including airline tickets, hotels, etc.
- Triple points on all dining and travel charges.
- Free Priority Pass lounge membership.
- Reimbursement for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck.
- And, of course, the 100,000 point sign-up bonus
Heck, even Disney fans will find they can put that travel credit to good use.
While plenty of folks have been saying lots of great things about Chase Sapphire Reserve, it’s not perfect for everyone. It’s likely a fit for a large number of folks. But, my friend Tiffany does a great job arguing the other side. I think she makes some good points, all of which you should consider. Given the annual fee, be sure you can maximize the benefits and pay it off each month before applying.
The Final Two Pennies
Apply tomorrow if you want to take advantage of the 100,000 point sign-up bonus. You should still be able to apply in a branch after tomorrow. But, Chase branches aren’t everywhere (none within easy driving distance from me). And, the offer may not be in branches later this week as expected.
Chase Ultimate Rewards points are one of my favorite points to collect. You should consider the Chase Sapphire Reserve if you don’t carry a personal Chase card in your wallet now (or if you carry Chase Sapphire Preferred).
