SPG Moments At The US Open: A Quick Spin Through The Goody Bag

A final wrap-up on our awesome trip to the US Open.

First, there was our awesome experience with Andre Agassi.

Then, there was a great day hanging in the SPG luxury box to watch some tennis.

And, finally, on our way out the door was a goodie bag.  Pictures and brief descriptions below.  If you see something you like, leave a comment on the blog and I’ll send it your way!

Quick Spin

First, there was a hardcover book featuring pictures of some of the best SPG resorts in the world.  Having stayed at some of them, this was both a walk down memory lane and a shopping list for future redemptions.

Quick Spin

Then, some iPhone covers.  If more then one person wants one of these, we’ll figure some sort of tiebreaker out.  In fairness, Yankees fans will almost certainly get priority. 🙂

First is of Sheraton Huzhou Hot Spring Resort in China.  Built in a lake, I want to visit this property just to figure out how the heck you get to the top floor.  🙂

Quick Spin

Then, Westin Kierland in Scottsdale.  Definitely worthy of a vacation if you haven’t been.

Quick Spin

Incidentally, all the phone covers had the same insert.  And, as far as marketing folks go, they really should have picked a better fake customer for the insert.  I mean, the guy’s only Preferred, and he’s only got 15,000 points.  Someone needs to get this man a Starwood Preferred Guest American Express card, stat.

Quick Spin

Then, some shoelaces to commemorate the new Westin initiative that has sneakers available for you when you travel.  I don’t know about you, but wearing used sneakers gives me the heebies.  Not sure what I’m going to do with the shoelaces.

Quick Spin

Can’t have a goody bag without a luggage tag.

Quick Spin

And, finally a 2012 US Open hat.  There was a pair of matching sunglasses, but my daughter loves purple, so those have been taken over by 6-year old eminent domain.

Quick Spin

Let me know if you’re interested in any of the SPG goodies.

From start to finish, SPG did a great job planning the event.  Even when it was pouring rain we were still enjoying ourselves (Prosecco has a way of doing that).  I’d sign up again in a heartbeat for an experience like this.  Don’t be surprised to see us repeating in the future!

  1. Glad you had a great experience, Ed! I’ll definitely throw my hat in the ring for one of the iPhone covers… Preferably the China property.

  2. Nice! I cannot wait to use my SPG points on something similar. If you can please send me the 2012 US Open hat. 🙂

      1. Wow! What a fantastic experience and can’t wait to use my SPG points in a similar manner. I would really like to put my name in for the Scottsdale iPhone cover.
