Looking For Great Award Availability In Business Class To Europe? Found It!
I’m always on the lookout for new tools to help folks use their miles wisely. My friend Spencer from Straight to the Points has a deal today that you should be looking at. First, the particulars. Then, I’ll tell you how you can get these same deals yourself.
Great Award Availability To Europe
Spencer is finding tons of award space on Austrian Airlines for next summer. Next summer, you say? I’m not even done with this summer! Sure, but 4 seats available today in business class is an opportunity family travelers can’t pass up. While there are a number of ways to book these awards, I’d recommend United Airlines as the most affordable path. Using their miles, you won’t pay any fuel surcharges. Here are the dates he’s seeing availability:
Here are the dates with award space for 4 people in July 2019:
- Chicago (ORD): 12, 15, 21, 22, 25, 28, 29, 30
- Newark (EWR): 1, 2, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 19, 20-22, 26, 28, 29
- New York (JFK): 1-3, 7-10, 12-17, 19-24, 26, 28-30
- Washington Dulles (IAD): 1, 7, 8, 15, 16, 21-25, 27-30
- Los Angeles (LAX) – 2 people: 12, 19, 21-14, 26, 30
This availability is for 4 seats unless otherwise noted. If you’ve ever tried booking business class awards for your family to get to Europe in the summer, it can be a bit tough. It normally requires a bit of compromise. I’m actually a big fan of the Austrian product. Our family had an excellent experience coming back from Europe. If you don’t have 1K status with United, you might have to pay a change fee if your plans change. However, between now and next summer there’s bound to be a schedule change. That would allow you the opportunity to change your plans for free.
Once you get to Europe, it’s super easy to find a low-cost carrier to take you to your final destination. Vienna is still pretty darn awesome (including the incredible Park Hyatt Vienna). But, you can find cheap flights to lots of different places on carriers like easyJet, Ryanair and many more.
How Do I Find These Deals?
Spencer has an award alerts e-mail list on his website, Straight to the Points. You’ll see a tab in the upper right-hand corner labeled Award Alerts. Don’t worry, he won’t spam you. Heck, he’s only sending a few deals a week right now. But, they’re all really good deals. I told him he should be charging for great info like this. Better sign up soon before he changes his mind on this list being free! You can find Spencer and I talking about his new project on the Miles To Go podcast.

How do you come back ? They aren’t releasing on the way back.
Sorry for the delay in responding. I think Norwegian can be a great option for things like this if you can’t find a return.
