Hilton Catering to Families

Mommy Points has a very informative post for families today.

She discovered a program that Hilton has called Mini Breaks.  Essentially, it allows for families to get a second room for half price when traveling with kids.

I’m a very light sleeper, and I also like to vacation comfortably.  So, I always reserve two rooms when our family of 4 travels.  I have an upcoming stay at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort in Clearwater Beach, FL.  I’m spending 80K SPG points instead of 40K so we can have two rooms to spread out in.  Depending on the rate, I could definitely see paying for the second room instead of using so many points.

And, there are plenty of people who don’t have 80K points lying around to grab two rooms.  So, this strikes me as a pretty positive program.

As Mommy Points also notes, I know some SPG properties offer this option.  But, I have yet to be able to utilize it in my travels.  I’m primarily a Hyatt guy, with SPG being my secondary program.  But, this does make me reconsider using Hilton for a domestic family vacation in the future.
