89 Agave. Where To Go For Dinner In Sedona, Arizona

a group of people outside of a building

This is a tale of three canyons.  Chances are you haven’t heard of at least one and maybe two.

Here’s what I plan to cover in this trip report, mostly in order:

  • Planning The Trip
  • Hyatt Pinon Pointe
  • Dining in Sedona
  • Grand Canyon Railway
  • A Brief Stop At The Grand Canyon, How To Spend 3 Hours
  • Antelope Canyon
  • Glen Canyon Dam
  • Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort And Spa
  • Bear Canyon Ranch

Sedona has plenty of good restaurants.  There’s a small downtown area that’s easy walking distance from the Hyatt Residence Club Sedona.  My friend, Randy P is a big fan of the Sedona area.  He was more than happy to provide us with a recommendation for one of his favorite places.

89 Agave is situated in the middle of the small downtown area.  Parking can be a bit tough.  There’s both outdoor and indoor seating.  It can get pretty hot in Sedona.  The temperatures were 110 degrees and higher during our trip, so we chose to sit inside.

The menu is a mix of Mexican favorites.  We started with their house-made Sangria and looked over the menu.  Michelle couldn’t decide between the white and red Sangria.

Everything we tasted was delicious.  Our favorites were the fresh guacamole and the grilled corn.  The corn was outstanding.  The menu labels the sauce an aioli.  Not sure that’s an accurate representation of it.  I’m usually not a fan of such sauces.  It was lighter than I would have expected and a great combination with the cheese and lime. Yum!

The staff was excellent.  They catered to the kids especially, paying them plenty of attention.  The Sangria was tasty, perfectly cold on a sweltering day.  Did I mention the corn?

89 Agave is conveniently located especially if you’re staying at the HRC Sedona.  Outside seating is likely a treat in the cooler months.  In summer, the mist may not cut through the hot sun making the dining room a better choice.  The ambiance is very casual, the food is great.  If you’re in Sedona, put 89 Agave on your list.
