Hyatt and Chase are teaming up for a bonus offer in February that can earn World of Hyatt credit card holders up to 5,000 bonus points.  We’ve seen plenty of travel brands get creative with ways to stay top of mind (and wallet) during the pandemic.  As we close in on a year of social distancing and quarantine requirements, Hyatt has a nice offer if you’re willing to rely on their credit card in February.

Earn 5,000 Bonus Points For February Spending

World of Hyatt credit card holders earn bonus points based on how many transaction they have on the card in the month of February.

a diagram of a business

  • 10 transactions=1,000 bonus points
  • 25 total transactions=2,500 bonus points
  • 50 total transactions=5,000 bonus points

You need to register for the offer and use your World of Hyatt credit card between February 1st and February 28th, 2021.  Transactions need to be at least $1 each, but there are very few restrictions beyond that.

The Final Two Pennies

50 transactions sounds like a lot, but that’s less than two per day.  Gas and groceries are easy purchases to consider moving over.  I would imagine pretty much everyone who holds the World of Hyatt card can muster 25 transactions over the course of a month.  If you are able to max out this promotion, 5,000 points is enough for a free night at a Category 1 Hyatt property.  You can find the full list of Category 1 Hyatt hotels here.  Hyatt points stretch a lot further than Hilton, IHG and Marriott with some nice properties even in Category 1.  Sure, you’ll see a steady diet of Hyatt Place and Hyatt House properties in the US.  But, you’ll also find Hyatt Regency properties in Europe as well as Asia, and even a Grand Hyatt and Park Hyatt in Asia.  Or, you could choose to save up and redeem those bonus points at one of the Latin America Hyatt properties now offering free COVID testing.

The only thing that surprises me a bit about this promotion is that it only runs for a month.  I suspect that travel will still likely be curtailed pretty significantly in March.  Here’s hoping that Hyatt and Chase look to extend this offer. so we can all earn some more bonus points for when we start booking those dream trips!
